Lies lead us away from God. Truth brings us to God.

So if you find yourself going farther and farther away from God, stop and ask yourself what you are believing?

The World, movies, media etc... will fill your head with their ‘truth’. But we all know who the ruler of this world is. Satan. The father of lies.

My Aunt use to say, “Junk in, junk out.”

So what are you believing today that is making you question your life and God?

If the Truth makes you uncomfortable. If you find you don’t like being around those who hold to the Bible, if you have all sorts of self-righteous arguments as to why they are wrong and you are right, and yet you are going farther and farther away from God....

What lies are you believing?

Now immediately you will become defensive at all this. You will argue and try to shoot down what is being said here.

Please take a deep breath and instead ask God to show you the truth as you read.

In this battle over good and evil, we are either on one side or the other, right? I don’t know about you, but I want to always be on God’s side. How does a person know if they are truly on the right side, on God’s side?

By being so close to God, by being in His word, that we are saturated by His word. To live and breath it.

“And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” John 8:32

Like my aunt said, “junk in, junk out.” What are we feeding ourselves with? If it’s God’s word, we will be hearing His voice and following Him. But if we’re filling ourselves with media, movies, ‘worldly wisdom’, it will be tainted with lies and we will be driven farther and farther away from the Lord.

And the farther we get from Him, the more confused we get. The more we question Him and everything around us.

Satan’s goal is to bring us down with him. He will do anything to destroy us.

He tells you, your identity is in your sexuality.

But your identity is In Christ, a child of God.

He tells you that you are the victim.

But God wishes for you to be free from that baggage and to grow stronger because of it.

He tells you that your spouse is the enemy.

But really Satan is.

He tells you your anger is justified. It’s OK to yell and scream at your kids or others.

But God says be angry and do not sin.

He tells you God doesn't really care, because He let that bad thing happen to you.

Satan and his evil were behind that bad thing, and God wishes to heal you from it.

He tells you through the World that you deserve to be happy and that is all that matters.

But our all Holy, all Powerful God, Creator of Heaven and Earth created you to glorify Him.

He’ll tell you you can’t be happy in following God, so leave the church and be happy.

But the happiness you feel will be hallow and unfulfilling, because the God shape hole in us can not be filled with anything BUT God.

In God we can be happy and fulfilled. In God we will have healing and true meaning. In God we are His child, royalty. We are loved. We are wanted. We are whole.

And... Satan doesn't want us to know or feel those. He wants to destroy what God loves.

You.

So he tells you these lies.

One. At. A. Time.

Until he has trapped you and pulled you farther and farther away from God. Until you see the world’s way as the right way, and God’s way as the wrong way. Until you see upside down as right side up.

“And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” John 8:32

You want to be free? You want peace?

Turn to God.

Anxiety has you trapped?

No, Satan has you trapped.

Turn to God.

Choose this day who you will listen to. When you start questioning things, go to God’s word in prayer. He will answer.

So if you are a believer and you are feeling far away from God. You say God hasn’t given you healing, or fulfillment or happiness, then my challenge to you would be who are you listening to?

As God confronts you with what needs to change, confess each sin, doubt, fear or lie to Him. Let His truth fill those places where the lie used to reside, and ask Him to wipe you clean.

Then when Satan comes to attack, tell him to get out. You can command him in Jesus Christ name to leave.

Through God’s power and might you can have freedom in Christ.

You have God’s power, through His Son’s Name. The Lord Jesus Christ, to command each sin, doubt, fear or lie to leave you.

Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

You want a true Hero to save you?

Run to God.

My Thoughts on Our Times

I've thought long and hard on this. I'm going out on a limb sharing, because I know there will be some that disagree on some of what I'm about to say. But with much prayer, and the urge to speak and not be silent, here it is.

My thoughts on our times that we are living through right now.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the evil powers of Satan.

This might not be ‘persecution’ like others face in the world, but this is oppression from the enemy, driven by fear.

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and a sound mind.” 2 Tim 1:7

That’s how the devil operates. And he also loves to separate us and divide us.

Not to mention that there is a lot going on politically that is wrong. Did you know we are probably about 80% to becoming a socialistic society? Already Canada has adopted a Cancel Culture. A cancel culture very much like what happened when Hitler took over. If you didn’t agree with the new normal of the day, you had to keep your mouth shut or face the dire consequences.

Sound familiar?

And right now we have laws that are being put in place that don’t even line up with our constitutional rights. Which means, the laws don’t agree with THE LAW of the land. Our country was founded on freedom. You’ve all hear ‘True north strong and free’. Well we are not free any more. Yes you can argue that it’s because of the C.V. and because it’s all for a good cause, we should comply. I hear you. I hear where you’re coming from and yes Christians should have a Christ like attitude when we are faced with these things.

But I ask you, if we were in Hitler’s Germany, would you have continued to comply even when the rules told you not to obey God? No of course not. You would have stood your ground. Now I ask you this. Is it our place to condemn our fellow Christians who are only following their conscience? What about when we can’t even do what God has made us to do? Breath fresh air and meet with others? Those are God given things that He put within us. Needs actually. What are some other things that just aren't right, but we’ve grown use to accepting them? Things that aren't really normal?

Take a minute to think about that.

And think about this. The Government officials are put in office by vote by us, the people. They are put there to represent the people, and to do as the people would want the government to run the land. And suddenly we have them acting as dictators. Turning on us. They do not treat us with respect. They treat us like naughty little children who don’t know how to behave.  Well, I’m an adult and I know with the God given brain I’ve been given when to stay home and when it’s OK for us to go out. That’s a God given discernment he’s given us.

Yes I know we are to respect our governing authorities. Romans 13: 1-14 is very clear on that. But to not challenge them when they are wrong, is also wrong. In a land were our government has been set up by the people, for the people, we have a responsibility before God to hold them to account. God has given each of us boundaries to which we are to respect. My boundaries around me are to protect me from outsiders. If someone doesn't respect my boundaries and violates me in any way, I have not only the right but the duty to push back and say no to abuse.

And that is where this whole thing has gotten really tricky. Yes we need to be careful and consider others health and do our best to get through this. BUT, we are also not to allow abuse. That is never acceptable in any circumstance.

So, I would say, what is the Christians response to all this? Because this is becoming persecution. And it will get worse as the days go on. Oppression is from the enemy, never from God. God commands us to not forsake the assembling of ourselves. Satan will do anything to disrupt that and bring a stop to it. Therefore it is persecution from the enemy. We wrestle not against flesh and blood.

First Pray. Pray and Pray.

Because we wrestle not against flesh and blood. There really is a darkness with this. Its very real and I feel it. So pray.

Second. Educate ourselves. The Justice Centre for constitutional freedom is fighting for us. Go to their website and read up on our rights and why these C rules should not be in place. Don’t just listen to the main stream media. They are only giving one narrative. Propaganda is nothing new. There are more conservative news outlets out there that can help give a more balanced view and a fuller picture. Whenever there is a ‘fight’ or controversy of any kind we know it’s best to get both sides of the story. That still apples in this case too.

Research the great reset. It is a thing and it is happening. Understand the times we live in and why people are fighting for their freedoms or just to keep their small business open.

It’s not selfish to want our freedoms. That’s a bold faced lie we’re being conditioned to accept.

Those people who have lost their job, or livelihood and are facing poverty and are protesting against the lock downs are not selfish. They have the right and responsibility to themselves and their families they are trying to provide for, to push back and say no. The Government has crossed these peoples boundary lines and the abuse has got to stop. Their cries will not go unnoticed before God Almighty who says he will bring justice to the oppressed, poor and afflicted. And if God will fight for those who are poor and oppressed, then as Christians who are trying to be Christ like, we too should fight for them. That is not selfish.

It’s never selfish to fight for one’s freedom. If it is, then our founding fathers were selfish. What about Paul using his Roman citizenship to say, no you can’t treat me this way, I’m a Roman. Was he selfish? No he pushed back at the abuse.

The lines have become so muddled because it’s all in the name of health. But abuse is abuse and we should never justify it. They need to find another way to deal with this C.V. and not mistreat people.

But our P.M. doesn't care if the economy fails. He has stated as much when he talked about bringing in the great reset and that this pandemic was an opportune time to do so. They want it to fail. They can’t bring in the reset unless the economy fails. And it won’t just be the economy they redo, it will be every aspect of our lives they will change. You can look this up at the World Economic Form website. It’s all laid out there. This is no conspiracy theory. They really are planning to do it. And in light of that. What is the Christians response to rights and freedoms? Should we continue to be ‘selfish’?

Was it selfish for the slaves to run for freedom? Was it selfish for the Jews to want to live? Was it selfish for the pilgrims to want freedom to worship according to their conscience?

No of course not.

We should fight for freedom. It’s not just for me the individual. It’s for our neighbour, it’s for those people that are losing their livelihood and for the children and our children’s children. Socialism is here folks and it’s not pretty. And it’s not going away when the pandemic is over. (The fight against internet regulations. The firearm concerns. The vac passports. We can go on and on. It’s no coincidence)

What should our response be to the cries of those who now find themselves in poverty?

Oh sure the government has given handouts. But no self-respecting person wants or should be dependant on the government.

Have compassion. (and the fruits of the spirit).

There has been people that are un-moving and uncaring towards the people who can’t get a medical exemption to wearing masks, and yet they CANT wear them. I know someone who always got sick every time they had to wear it. And we need to have compassion for those who have health concerns and need to be careful and are afraid of the C.V.

We have to have a balance of caring for those on both sides. All this judging of one another is only dividing more. Which is exactly what Satan wants.

So PRAY and PRAY again. Ask God if your church should be open or underground or what they should do. Only God should be telling you what you and your church should be doing. No one else. Not even the government.

This really is Spiritual warfare. Open your spiritual eyes. Suit up in the Armour of God.

Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, o man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you. But to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”

Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.”

Proverbs 29: 7 “A righteous man knows the rights of the poor; a wicked man does not understand such knowledge.”

Proverbs 14: 31 “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honours him.”

Luke 11: 42 “But woe to you pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.”

Jeremiah 22:3 “Thus says the Lord: Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.”

Deuteronomy 15:7 “If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you should not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother.”

1 Tim2:1-4 “I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, and intercession be made for all men; for kings and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin ad heal their land.”

Hebrews 10:23-25 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more as you see the day approaching.”

Disclaimer.: I am a very passive complement person for the most part. I do not like to argue or get into fights. But as I’ve done research on what is happening globally politically, and in our own country I am alarmed. And I can not stay silent.

I am also a history buff. And what is happening here in our country under the name ‘for the good of us all’ is all too familiar to history. I would brush it off if I didn’t know that socialism and communism is taking over. Our freedoms really are at stake and to ignore it and do nothing is very dangerous. We've become complacent. We’ve convinced ourselves that this will all go away soon. During WW2 the people in Germany did nothing at first. They were so happy to have the government solve their economic problems, and then they were sorry they didn’t speak out when they could. So pray and Ask God to do a working, in our land and in our hearts.

Fear and Anxiety

These days seem to be fueled by fear.

Hopefully this is encouraging the choir. I speak to myself just as much as to anyone else.

I’ve been there, I’ve battled with anxiety and fear. I used to be afraid of people. I also had panic attacks around horses because of a really bad accident. But the good news is we don’t have to be ‘stuck’ in fear. We can be victorious over it.

Fear of death?

Jesus said,
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepared a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you man be also.” John 14:1-3

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Confessing our sins to God, we will be forgiven and have a place in heaven.

If we believe in God, we needn’t fear death. It’s that plain and simple. He’s got this covered.

If we don’t have God, then yes, we have a lot to fear and be anxious about.

Fear of financial ruin?

"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Matthew 6: 26-34

If we believe in God, He will provide for all our needs. We needn't worry how we’re going to get through the next few months.

He’s got this covered.

If we don’t trust God, then yes, we have a lot to fear and be anxious about.

Fear of what’s happening around us right now?

Psalms 91 says...

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”
And if that’s not enough, get this,

If we are trusting God and His care, “Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.” Psalm 46:2

But if we are not trusting and abiding in Him, then yes, we have lots to fear.

Confessing our fears.

So how can one over come fear and anxiety when it seems to swallow us up? After all, it’s not just something we can just shrug off. It seeps into our most inner being, and grabs hold so tight we are powerless against it on our own.

But with God, all things are possible.

We see in scripture that Jesus disciples and the apostles could do nothing in and of themselves, but when they spoke, commanding in Jesus name, they had power from God to be victorious.

Confess each and every fear to God, and then in the power of His Son’s name, command each one of those fears to leave. There is power in Jesus Christ name. We can overcome those fears through Him!

If we remain in our fears, not trusting in God, then yes, we have much to fear. Fear will consume us.

May you each be encouraged today. God loves each and every one of you. He will take care of you. Trust Him.

School in Progress Part 10

The School year is well into swing, and here's a look at what we're up to.

Penmanship with fun wipe-able books!
Science made easy with these DVDs, and a Math DVD to reinforce what we're learning.
I like these for one big reason, less book work. Plus this really grabs the kids attention.
Aside from Sing,Spell,Read and Write, here are a few of the other phonics books we've been using and are working well for us. Evan Moor has some great books.
One of their best features is the fact you are allowed to photocopy pages for multiple students, so that has worked well for us.
The favorite book in his bunch is the Draw and Write.
They really like they're Geography and these writing books are really good to help them get the basics of story telling/writing sentences. I like Word A Day, because it helps them learn new words.
These are also some of their favorites. By the end of each lesson they are able to read a whole list of words.
I wish I had started with this math last year. Very nice workbooks and they like them to boot, so that's a plus.
This science book focus' on the human body and nature, and the kids are liking it.
And of course the Cleaning Zone, (should I say mom's favorite?) has given them a new look at cleaning and helps it not be overwhelming.

And that's it so far. What are you doing in school?

I have stuck to only 2 hours of school a day, and that has helped in a lot of ways.
1. Not overwhelming for them.
2. Time to do fun things, like art.
3. Easy for mom, and I have time to rest.
4. They retain what they're taught better when they don't get overload.
We also have a fun school day, once a week, where we do all the fun stuff, experiments, art, learning DVDs or other educational videos.

Happy Schooling!

Thoughtful Quotes

Manners, thoughtfulness, kindness, practicing servant-hood.
These are all things we want to in-steal into our children, as well as practices ourselves.

Craft for February

Calico Critter/Little Woodzeez's Furniture

I recently made some furniture as a gift, and thought I should show how they came out.
These would fit Little Woodzeez's a little better than Calico Critters, as I made the furniture a little bigger than I would for Calico Critters. Little Woodzeez's are bigger, defiantly rounder, than Calico Critter's and need more room so they don't fall off.

My first project was dining room chairs, which I had posted here.
This is the makings of a kitchen cupboard.
I started with two vitamin boxes, cut in half and hot glued together.
Then I began to cover them with fabric.
 Hot gluing it in place.
Next I made the doors, gluing on fabric as hinges.

Then created a latch so they'd stay shut.
Here is Mrs. Owl getting dishes out of her cupboard.
These dishes I found at the dollar store.
The boxed food I found through Pinterest, and printed them off to make.

Next I made a piano, starting with a wide flat stick and a sharpie.
I covered another vitamin box with fabric...
... and hot glued on my keyboard and other wood to make the piano.
I made a different piano for my daughter, here.

Next up was some kitchen furnishings. I started with two soap boxes, a plastic 'sink' from some time we ate out, and paper stove top and oven.
With my craft knife, I cut out a hole for the sink.
Then covered in fabric, and added touches, including some clear sticky plastic shelf liner. I sealed it down around the edges with the tip of my hot glue gun so it should never come off. This gave a nice smooth counter top.
The stove was started the same, cover in fabric...
...a little glue to hold the paper in place...
... Then cover in sticky plastic, and seal around the edges.
They're maybe not the best looking kitchen set, but hey... I made them!

I missed taking pictures of how I made the table, so I will have to post that another time.

I printed off miniature music sheet for the piano.
For how I make furniture, go here.
Craft blocks and chest from the dollar store become a toy chest.
And I made matching pillows and blankets for all the beds...

For how I made the closet, go here.
And you can turn paper clips into hangers.

Knitted a small blanket for the baby owls.
And the crib I made like I would any child critter bed, but with craft sticks on the sides.

Tiny bird house from the dollar store becomes a play house for the babies.
I hope a special little girls has many years of fun with this.
And that's it for now!
Happy Crafting!
